National Savings and Investments (NS&I) is a non-ministerial government department and an Executive Agency of the Chancellor of the Exchequer of the United Kingdom. Its primary mission is to raise cost-effective financing for the government by offering a variety of savings and investment products, such as Premium Bonds, ISAs, and savings accounts. Established in 1861 as the Post Office Savings Bank, it has a long history of providing financial products to UK citizens. A key feature of NS&I is that all deposits are 100% secure as they are backed by HM Treasury, offering a level of protection beyond the standard Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS).
