Founded in 1981, HSBC Bank Canada was a Schedule II bank and a leading international bank in the country. It operated as a subsidiary of the UK-based HSBC Holdings plc. The bank provided a full range of financial services to individuals, businesses, and institutional clients through its three main business lines: Commercial Banking, Wealth and Personal Banking, and Global Banking and Markets. With a history of connecting Canadian clients to global opportunities, it was the seventh-largest bank in Canada before its operations were sold to the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC).
