Founded in 1953 as the Jackson-Wheeler Credit Union, the institution was originally established to serve the employees of Jackson-Wheeler Metals Service, Inc. In 2004, it was granted a community charter, changed its name to Hidden River Credit Union, and expanded its field of membership to all of Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, its mission is to provide its member-owners with a range of affordable financial services, including savings and checking accounts, loans, and digital banking, while prioritizing member financial well-being over profit.
