Hcash was launched as a project aiming to create a new-generation decentralized and open-source cross-platform cryptocurrency. Its core mission was to be a "dual-chain" ecosystem, connecting both block-based blockchains (like Bitcoin) and blockless Directed Acyclic Graph (DAG) systems. The original token was Hshare (HSR), which was later swapped for the native HyperCash (HC) token in 2018 upon the mainnet launch and rebranding. The project is backed by the Hcash Foundation and aimed to solve issues of interoperability, scalability, and security in the blockchain space.
