Founded in 1955, Empresas Públicas de Medellín (EPM) is a residential public utilities company owned by the Municipality of Medellín, Colombia. It has grown to become one of the largest corporations in the country, with a mission to contribute to the harmonious development of the regions it serves. EPM's core business revolves around the generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity; the provision of drinking water and sanitation services; natural gas distribution; and waste management. It has also expanded its operations to other countries in Latin America, including Panama, Guatemala, El Salvador, Chile, and Mexico.
