Australian Payments Council
Information by Research TrustFinance
Established in 2014 following the Reserve Bank of Australia's Strategic Review of Innovation, the Australian Payments Council served as a forum for senior leaders from across the payments industry to collaborate on strategic issues. Its mission was to guide the long-term vision and development of the Australian payments system, addressing challenges and promoting efficiency, innovation, and competition. The Council was dissolved at the end of 2021, and its strategic coordination role was incorporated into the work of a new industry body, Australian Payments Plus (AP+).
