The Amsterdams Klimaat en Energiefonds (AKEF) is a foundation initiated and funded by the Municipality of Amsterdam. Its mission is to accelerate the city's transition to a sustainable and climate-neutral future by providing financing to viable projects that reduce CO2 emissions, promote energy efficiency, and generate renewable energy. AKEF offers various financial instruments, including loans, guarantees, and equity participations, to businesses and initiatives that might otherwise struggle to secure traditional funding. The fund is externally managed by the investment firm e3 Partners.
