Founded in 1983, VSR Financial Services, Inc. operated as a full-service, independent broker-dealer based in Overland Park, Kansas. The firm's mission was to support independent financial advisors by providing them with the necessary brokerage, compliance, technology, and practice management resources to serve their clients effectively. VSR was known for its "small-firm feel" and strong advisor-focused culture. In late 2015, it was announced that VSR would be acquired by RCS Capital, the parent company of Cetera Financial Group at the time. The acquisition and integration into the Cetera network were completed in 2016, and the VSR brand and broker-dealer registration were subsequently terminated.
