Information by Research TrustFinance
Founded in 2000, Upromise is a free-to-join rewards service that helps families save for higher education. Members earn cash back through online shopping, dining at participating restaurants, booking travel, and other activities. These earnings can be automatically invested into a linked 529 college savings plan, used to pay down eligible student loans, or received as a check. Originally acquired by Sallie Mae in 2006, Upromise was sold to the marketing and consumer insights platform Prodege, LLC in 2020, which also operates brands like Swagbucks and MyPoints.
