Members earn cash back through online shopping, dining at participating restaurants, booking travel, and other activities. These earnings can be automatically invested into a linked 529 college savings plan, used to pay down eligible student loans, or received as a check. Originally acquired by Sallie Mae in 2006, Upromise was sold to the marketing and consumer insights platform Prodege, LLC in 2020, which also operates brands like Swagbucks and MyPoints.
