Founded in 2011, Udruga Franak is an association dedicated to protecting the rights and financial interests of consumers in Croatia. It was initially formed to address the widespread issue of citizens who took out loans pegged to the Swiss franc (CHF) and subsequently faced unsustainable repayment increases due to currency fluctuations and unfair contractual terms, such as unilaterally changeable interest rates. The association's mission is to provide legal information, support, and to represent borrowers in collective lawsuits and public advocacy campaigns against predatory banking practices, aiming for legislative changes and fair compensation for affected individuals.
