Information by Research TrustFinance
Incorporated on March 28, 2005, and fully licensed by the Nigerian National Pension Commission (PenCom) in November 2005, UBA Pensions Custodian Limited was one of the first four pension fund custodians to be licensed in Nigeria. As a subsidiary of the United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc, the company's core mandate under the Pension Reform Act is to ensure the safekeeping of pension fund assets. It acts independently from Pension Fund Administrators (PFAs) to receive contributions, hold assets in custody, and execute transactions on behalf of the PFAs, providing a crucial layer of security and transparency for contributors' funds.
