Originally established in 1936 as the Universal Air Travel Plan, UATP is the oldest payment network in the world. It is a private network owned by a consortium of major global airlines, including American Airlines, British Airways, Delta Air Lines, and Lufthansa. UATP's core mission is to simplify and reduce the cost of payment processing for the airline and travel industries. It provides a payment method for corporate travelers (the UATP card) and also operates as a network that connects airlines with a wide array of alternative forms of payment (AFPs), helping them expand their global reach.
