Triangle Capital Corporation (formerly traded as TCAP) was a Business Development Company (BDC) that provided debt and equity capital to lower middle-market companies in the United States. Its primary business was making investments in the form of subordinated debt with equity components, senior debt, and direct equity investments. The company aimed to generate current income and capital appreciation for its investors. In August 2018, Triangle Capital Corporation was acquired by and merged into Barings BDC, Inc., and ceased to exist as an independent entity.
