Founded in 1995, Transfirst was a prominent provider of payment processing services and technologies in the United States. The company offered a comprehensive suite of products, enabling small and medium-sized businesses to accept credit, debit, and other forms of electronic payments. In 2016, Transfirst was acquired by TSYS (Total System Services) for approximately $2.35 billion to expand its merchant solutions business. Subsequently, in 2019, Global Payments Inc. completed its merger with TSYS, integrating Transfirst's former operations and assets into the broader Global Payments ecosystem. Today, the Transfirst brand is defunct, and its services continue under the Global Payments name.
