Founded in 2012, Spruce Root is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and a certified Native CDFI serving Southeast Alaska. As an affiliate of the Sealaska family of companies, its mission is to work with people and businesses to build a strong, sustainable, and vibrant regional economy. Spruce Root achieves this by providing entrepreneurs and community organizations with access to capital through loan funds, offering business development services like technical assistance and coaching, and fostering community-driven economic initiatives.
