Founded in 1996, the Red de Instituciones Financieras de Desarrollo (RFD) is a non-profit civil society organization that serves as an integration body for the microfinance sector in Ecuador. Its mission is to strengthen its member institutions—which include banks, cooperatives, and NGOs—to foster financial and social inclusion for low-income populations. RFD achieves this through advocacy, providing specialized information and research, offering technical assistance and training, and promoting shared services and best practices among its members.
