Founded in 2014, PrimeiroPay established itself as a leading payment solutions provider in Brazil and Latin America. The company's core mission was to simplify cross-border commerce by offering a single API and contract for international merchants to access a wide range of local payment methods, including credit cards, bank transfers, and boleto bancário. In September 2021, PrimeiroPay was acquired by dLocal (DLO), a global payment technology company, to strengthen dLocal's operational footprint and product offerings in the region. The PrimeiroPay brand and operations have since been fully integrated into dLocal.
