Premier Student Loan Center was one of several names used by a company called Atello Solutions, Inc. to operate a large-scale student loan debt relief scheme. The company falsely represented an affiliation with the U.S. Department of Education to deceive consumers into signing up for their services. They illegally charged millions of dollars in upfront fees, promising to help borrowers enroll in federal loan forgiveness or consolidation programs. However, they often failed to provide the services promised, causing financial harm to consumers. Following a joint lawsuit by the FTC and the Florida Attorney General in 2018, the operation was halted, and a federal court issued a permanent injunction in 2019, shutting the company down and ordering a judgment of over $84 million.
