It provided quick, unsecured, short-term loans to individuals directly through a mobile app, addressing a significant credit gap in the market. In 2019, the company rebranded to Carbon to reflect its expanded mission and services beyond lending. Today, as Carbon, it operates as a full-fledged digital financial services platform offering loans, fund transfers, bill payments, savings, and investments to customers primarily in Africa.
