Information by Research Trustfinance
Established on April 1, 1977, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) is the state-owned oil corporation of Nigeria. For decades, it has been the primary vehicle through which the federal government manages its interests in the Nigerian oil and gas industry. Following the passage of the Petroleum Industry Act in 2021, the corporation was transformed from a state-run entity into a commercial limited liability company. Its core mission is to explore, produce, refine, transport, and market crude oil, gas, and their derivatives, both locally and internationally, with a renewed focus on profitability and efficiency.
