Founded in the 19th century, Morgan Grenfell & Co. was one of London's most prestigious merchant and investment banks. It played a significant role in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and asset management in the UK and internationally. The bank was acquired by Deutsche Bank in a landmark deal in 1989. Following the acquisition, the Morgan Grenfell name and operations were gradually integrated into Deutsche Bank's global structure, with its asset management arm eventually becoming part of DWS Group (formerly Deutsche Asset Management). The original brand no longer operates as a standalone entity.
