Founded in 2005, the Merchants' Acquirers' Committee (MAC) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization focused on making the payments industry safer. Its mission is to foster collaboration among merchants, acquirers, payment service providers, and other payment professionals to combat fraud and mitigate risk. MAC achieves this by providing ongoing education, communication platforms, and cooperative opportunities for its members to share knowledge and best practices within the payment ecosystem.
