Founded in 1978, LUCRF Super was one of Australia's first industry super funds, originally established for workers in the pulp and paper industry. Over the years, it grew to become a public offer fund, serving members across various industries. On 1 April 2022, in a move to create greater scale, reduce costs, and improve services for its members, LUCRF Super completed a successful merger with AustralianSuper, one of the nation's largest superannuation funds. All LUCRF Super member accounts were transferred to AustralianSuper.
