Originally founded as Karvy Computershare Pvt Ltd, a joint venture between India's Karvy Group and Australia's Computershare, the company operated as a premier Registrar and Transfer Agent (RTA). In 2018, private equity firm General Atlantic acquired a majority stake from the Karvy Group. Following this, the company was rebranded to KFin Technologies Limited (KFintech) and has since operated as an independent entity, completely separate from the Karvy Group. KFintech is now a publicly listed company and a market leader in providing investor and issuer services, including RTA services for mutual funds, IPOs, and corporate registries.
