Originally founded in 1972 as the International City/County Management Association Retirement Corporation (ICMA-RC), the organization rebranded to MissionSquare Retirement in 2021. It is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping public service employees build a secure financial future. MissionSquare Retirement focuses exclusively on the public sector, offering retirement plans such as 457, 401, and IRAs, along with investment options, and financial wellness education to employees of state and local governments.
