Holo is building a decentralized cloud computing marketplace, designed to act as a bridge between the fully decentralized Holochain framework and the current, centralized web. The company's mission is to foster a more distributed internet where users control their own data and identity. Through its platform, individuals can offer their personal computing power to host Holochain applications, earning a cryptocurrency called HoloFuel in return. This creates an alternative to centralized cloud services like Amazon Web Services (AWS), aiming to be more resilient, user-controlled, and cost-effective. The project was initially funded through an Initial Community Offering (ICO) in 2018.
