Falcon Private Wealth Ltd. was the London-based entity of Falcon Private Bank AG, a Swiss private banking institution headquartered in Zurich. Originally founded in 1965 and later owned by Abu Dhabi's sovereign wealth fund Mubadala, the bank specialized in providing comprehensive wealth management services to a global clientele of high-net-worth individuals and families, with a strong focus on clients from the Middle East and Asia. The bank's history came to an end after it was deeply implicated in the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) corruption scandal. Financial regulators in both Switzerland (FINMA) and Singapore (MAS) found serious failures in anti-money laundering controls related to the scandal, leading to the withdrawal of its banking license and an orderly wind-down of all business activities, which was completed by early 2021.
