Originally established in January 2018 as DeCurret Inc., the company launched and operated a crypto asset exchange service in Japan. In February 2022, the company sold its crypto asset exchange business (which now operates as WhaleFin Japan) and rebranded to DeCurret DCP Inc. Its current mission is to build the core platform for digital currencies in Japan, focusing on infrastructure for stablecoins, CBDCs, and other digital assets, in collaboration with major Japanese financial institutions and corporations.
