Originally launched in April 2019 by Binance, Binance DEX was a key feature of the "Binance Chain," a blockchain designed for fast and secure trading. Its mission was to provide a decentralized, non-custodial trading venue that combined the speed of a centralized exchange with the security of a DEX. Over time, the Binance Chain evolved and merged with the Binance Smart Chain to form the current BNB Chain ecosystem. While the original `binance.org` web interface is no longer the primary way to access it, the core DEX protocol remains fundamental to the BNB Beacon Chain, facilitating on-chain trading accessible through various compatible cryptocurrency wallets and dApp interfaces.
