Founded in 1993 in the Netherlands, Bell ID established itself as a global leader in cryptographic lifecycle management software for banks, governments, and enterprises. The company was a pioneer in developing solutions for smart card personalization and management. In its later years, Bell ID became a key player in the mobile payments space, providing Host Card Emulation (HCE) and tokenization platforms that enabled banks to launch their own mobile wallet services securely. In 2016, the company was acquired by UL's Transaction Security division to strengthen its portfolio in digital identity and mobile payment security. The technology and expertise of Bell ID are now integrated into the Identity Management & Security services of UL Solutions.
