Founded in 2005, Bats Global Markets, Inc. rapidly grew to become a major operator of securities and foreign exchange markets in the U.S. and Europe. Known for its innovative technology and competitive pricing, its mission was to "make markets better" for all participants. Bats expanded significantly through strategic acquisitions, including Chi-X Europe and Direct Edge. In February 2017, CBOE Holdings, Inc. acquired Bats Global Markets, and the combined entity was renamed Cboe Global Markets, Inc. Today, as part of Cboe, it continues to operate a vast network of exchanges and markets for equities, options, futures, and FX, serving a global client base.
