Founded on October 15, 1929, and beginning operations in 1930, the Crédito Hipotecario Nacional de Guatemala (CHN) is an autonomous, state-owned banking institution. Its primary mission is to support the economic and social development of Guatemala. While its historical focus was on promoting mortgage credit for housing and production, it has since evolved into a comprehensive commercial bank offering a full suite of services, including savings and checking accounts, consumer and corporate loans, credit cards, trust services, and international transfers for both individuals and businesses.
