Acapture was launched in 2015 as a new payment service provider by its parent company, Pay.On. It was designed to provide international merchants with a flexible and data-driven omnichannel payment solution. The platform specialized in maximizing checkout conversions by analyzing payment data and offered connectivity to over 800 alternative payment methods and all major card acquirers. In 2018, its parent company was fully acquired by the French payments leader Worldline. Subsequently, in 2020, acapture was officially merged and rebranded into PAYONE, Worldline's brand for merchant services in Germany and Austria, to consolidate payment services under a unified European brand.
