Founded in 2016 in Madrid, Spain, 2gether (operating as 2GETHER APP S.L.) aimed to accelerate the transition to a token-based economy by bridging the gap between traditional finance and the crypto world. Its core product was a mobile app that allowed users in the Eurozone to trade various cryptocurrencies, hold them in a wallet, and spend them using a Visa debit card. The platform also featured its own utility token, 2GT. Due to the prolonged crypto market downturn ("crypto winter") and an inability to secure further funding, the company abruptly announced the cessation of its services and filed for bankruptcy in July 2022.
