Founded in 1937 as a co-operative building society in the southern suburbs of Sydney, St.George became a full-fledged bank in 1992. It grew to become one of Australia's most prominent banking institutions, known for its strong focus on personal banking, home loans, and small-to-medium enterprise services. In 2008, St.George merged with Westpac Banking Corporation but continues to operate as a distinct brand, maintaining its own brand identity and customer base while leveraging the resources of its parent company.
