Originally founded as Sussex Bank in 1975, the company rebranded to SB One Bank in 2017 to reflect its growth beyond Sussex County, New Jersey. It operated as a full-service, community-focused financial institution, providing deposit, lending, and wealth management services to individuals, families, and businesses. In March 2020, Provident Financial Services, Inc. (the parent company of Provident Bank) announced its intention to acquire SB One Bancorp. The acquisition was completed on July 31, 2021, and all SB One Bank branches and operations were subsequently rebranded and integrated into Provident Bank.
