The Saudi Agricultural and Livestock Investment Company (SALIC) is a joint stock company wholly owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Established by Royal Decree in 2009 with operations beginning in 2012, SALIC's core mission is to contribute to the national food security strategy of Saudi Arabia. It achieves this by investing in a portfolio of domestic and international agribusinesses, targeting countries with a competitive advantage in producing specific food commodities. SALIC's strategy involves managing the entire supply chain, from origination to processing and logistics, to ensure a stable and sustainable supply of essential food products for the Kingdom.
