Omniex was founded in 2017 to provide institutional-grade infrastructure for investing in and trading digital assets. The company developed a comprehensive platform offering portfolio and order management systems (PMS/OMS), execution management (EMS), and connectivity to a wide range of cryptocurrency exchanges and OTC desks. Its mission was to create a robust "operating system" to simplify and secure crypto asset management for institutional clients. In early 2022, Omniex was acquired by the financial services and investment management firm Galaxy Digital to accelerate the development of Galaxy's institutional digital asset platform, now being developed as GalaxyOne.
