The Mifos Initiative is a US-based 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to accelerating the elimination of poverty. Its mission is to support a global community that builds, supports, and uses open-source technology to bring responsible financial services to the world's unbanked and underbanked populations. Originally started within the Grameen Foundation in 2006, Mifos was spun off as an independent non-profit in 2011. It provides a cloud-native, open-source core banking platform that enables financial institutions, fintechs, and governments to deliver digital financial services efficiently and at scale.
