Originally established in 1968 as Malaysian American Assurance Company Berhad, the company was a prominent provider of life and general insurance. Following a strategic disposal of its core insurance business in 2011, MAA Group Berhad transitioned into an investment holding company. Today, its principal activities are centered around its holdings in the education sector in Malaysia (St. John's International School and Imperium International College) and its general insurance business in the Philippines (MAA General Assurance Phils., Inc.). The group's mission is to enhance shareholder value through strategic management and growth of its investment portfolio.
