The Georgia Environmental Finance Authority (GEFA) is a state authority established in 1985 to provide financing for environmental infrastructure projects. As an independent agency, its mission is to conserve and improve Georgia’s energy and land resources, promote water quality, and assist local governments with funding for essential services. GEFA administers various state and federally funded low-interest loan and grant programs that support projects related to water and sewer systems, solid waste management, water conservation, and energy efficiency and renewable energy.
