The Croatian Pension Insurance Institute (HZMO) is a public institution established by law to manage and implement the compulsory pension insurance system based on intergenerational solidarity. Its core mission is to ensure the rights of insured persons, beneficiaries, and other individuals related to old-age pensions, disability pensions, and survivor's pensions. The Institute is responsible for registering insured persons, collecting contributions, managing pension funds, and processing and paying out pensions and other benefits as mandated by national law and international social security agreements.
