Codan Forsikring was a significant player in the Norwegian insurance market, offering a wide range of non-life insurance products for both private individuals and commercial businesses. Historically part of the British RSA Insurance Group, Codan's Scandinavian operations were acquired in a joint bid by Tryg A/S and Alm. Brand Group. The acquisition was completed in 2022, after which Codan Forsikring in Norway was officially merged and rebranded into Tryg Forsikring, the country's third-largest non-life insurance company. Former Codan customers are now served under the Tryg brand.
