Founded in 1986 in the city of Arequipa, Caja Arequipa is a Municipal Savings and Credit Bank (CMAC) supervised by the Superintendence of Banking, Insurance, and AFPs of Peru (SBS). Its primary mission is to promote financial inclusion and economic development by offering specialized financial products and services, such as loans, savings accounts, and payment services, to underserved populations, particularly micro and small business owners. Over the decades, it has grown to become one of the most significant microfinance institutions in Peru, with a vast network of branches across the country.
