Caisse des Français de l'Étranger (CFE) is a private organization entrusted with a public service mission to provide voluntary social security coverage for French citizens living outside of France. Established in 1978, it operates under the supervision of the ministries in charge of Social Security and the Budget. CFE allows French expatriates and their families to remain affiliated with the French social security system by offering insurance against risks such as sickness, maternity, invalidity, accidents at work, and occupational diseases, as well as providing options for retirement contributions.
