Established in 1993, BORICA AD is the operator of the Bulgarian national card payment system. It was founded by the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) and local commercial banks to build and maintain the interbank payment infrastructure. The company processes payments from ATMs and POS terminals, develops and supports the national card scheme Bcard, and offers a wide range of services including electronic payments (B-Pay), qualified electronic signatures (B-Trust), and instant payments (BLINK). As a licensed payment institution, BORICA plays a critical systemic role in the financial stability and modernization of payments within Bulgaria.
