Its mission is to help lenders make more informed and responsible credit decisions by providing them with accurate credit histories of potential borrowers. The bureau collects, centralizes, and shares positive and negative credit data from banks and non-bank financial institutions, thereby promoting a healthy credit environment and helping consumers build and maintain a good credit history.
