Originally founded in 1983 as a non-profit organization (Asociación para el Desarrollo de Microempresas, Inc. - ADEMI) to support the development of microenterprises, it evolved into a financial institution over the years. It became a Savings and Credit Bank in 1997 and received its license to operate as a full commercial bank (Banco Múltiple) in 2013. The bank's mission is to promote financial inclusion and contribute to the economic and social development of the Dominican Republic by providing a comprehensive range of financial products and services tailored to the needs of the MSME sector, as well as personal banking clients.
