Azania Bank Limited was established in 1995, originally as First Adili Bancorp, by a consortium of Tanzanian, EAC, and Nordic institutional investors. It has since grown into a significant mid-sized commercial bank in Tanzania. The bank is majority-owned by parastatal pension funds, including the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) and the Public Service Social Security Fund (PSSSF). Its mission is to be the leading bank in Tanzania by providing innovative financial solutions and superior customer service to individuals, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and corporate clients across the country.
