Xinja Bank
Information by Research Trustfinance
Xinja Bank was a Sydney-based digital bank, or "neobank," that aimed to disrupt the traditional Australian banking sector by offering a mobile-first banking experience. Founded in 2017, it gained a full Authorised Deposit-taking Institution (ADI) licence from the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) in 2019. The company attracted significant customer interest with high-interest savings accounts and a user-friendly app. However, facing challenges in raising capital and developing a sustainable business model, Xinja announced its decision to cease operations, close all accounts, and return its banking licence to APRA in December 2020.
